Why Collaborative Divorce in Orlando, Florida?

A COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE IS A KINDER, GENTLER, and FRIENDLIER DIVORCE. In a collaborative divorce you and your spouse control the outcome of your case. You cooperative and collaborate to reach the goals that you and your spouse want to obtain. You, your spouse and the Collaborative Team formulate options of how you can peacefully and amicably resolve the issues in your case. These are some of the benefits to a collaborative divorce. There are also other benefits to a collaborative divorce such as: the private and confidential nature of a collaborative divorce.

In a collaborative divorce, you have a collaborative team. The TEAM consists of:  a financial neutral, a mental health neutral, and an attorney for each spouse. The team helps guide and navigate you and your spouse through the collaborative process.

The financial neutral collects the financial data and develops an equitable distribution chart for you and your spouse based on the options that you and your spouse have suggested to the team.

The mental health neutral guides you through the meetings by steering everyone in a forward positive direction. This avoids rehashing old negatives that can be detrimental to the process.

In a collaborative process, the attorneys may only represent you in the collaborative case. Therefore, they are dedicated to help you resolve the case. They gain no financial benefit if you do not settle.

This is quite different than in a traditionally hard-fought litigated case wherein the attorneys make much more money when the parties fight each other on every issue. The attorneys make more money for filing motions and going to trial. That does not happen in a collaborative case. Therefore, doing your case collaboratively is much more economical that a contentiously fought litigated case.

Plus, you gain peace of mind and do not have the same level of stress that you have in a hotly contested case. In a collaborative case, the TEAM and the spouses meet at one of the team member’s office. Therefore, you do not have to attend court as you do in a litigated case for hearings and trial.

Also, in a collaborative case, prior to ending the process, if you are having problems with resolving the case, you are allowed to go to a collaborative meditation.
