Thankful That I am a Central Florida Probate Administration and Guardianship Attorney

There are many things that I am thankful for:

  • My family,
  • My faith,
  • My country,
  • My friends,
  • Good health, and
  • A profession that enables me the opportunity to help others when they are in difficult situations.

Being a Probated Administration and Guardianship Attorney affords me an opportunity to assist clients, where my legal services, knowledge and experience often assist people and families, who may have to deal with not only the emotional difficulty of losing a spouse, a family member, or dear friend but also the legal consequences of that person’s death. Often, there are challenges they may encounter regarding locating assets, determining how assets are titled, determining the value of the assets, and interpreting estate planning documents such as Wills and Trusts that involve the decedents, their surviving family, and surviving friends.

When a person passes, there is often a need to determine what assets will go directly to designated beneficiaries, what assets will go to trust beneficiaries, and what assets need to be administered through the estate and probate process. This analysis must be performed accurately, and pursuant to the terms and provisions of any relevant estate planning documents.

There must also be a determination of who the legitimate creditors are, and what they must appropriately be paid. Any potential tax issues must be identified and referred to a competent certified public accountant, to make certain that all required tax documents are properly prepared and timely filed.

Also, I am thankful to provide legal assistance to clients who need legal authority to act on behalf of a spouse, family member, or dear friend, who unfortunately has become incapacitated as a result of illness or a severe accident. I have assisted many families through establishing guardianships, where they obtain the legal authority to care for their loved one or friend and are able to assist in properly providing a respectful and dignified lifestyle, and are able to preserve and use the appropriate assets to accomplish those goals.

Over the years, I have met many wonderful people that have required my legal assistance. I am very thankful for being able to assist them and their families. I look forward to the opportunity to assist many other people in the coming New Year.
