Do Not Let Anyone Steal Your Christmas

Christmas is only a few days away. Everyone is in preparation mode. People are busy hurrying and scurrying about. Some have been preparing all month for Christmas with the start of Advent. They have lit a candle weekly leading up to Christmas. Others have waited until the last minute and have just begun to prepare.

Some people are hurrying about to buy last-minute gifts. Others are busy baking Christmas cookies. Some people are shopping for food for the perfect Christmas meal. They may want to prepare the traditional family meal they enjoyed as a child, which could be turkey, beef, or seven fish, depending on their family heritage.

However, as busy as everyone is with Christmas predations and all those tasks at hand, they still must cope with all their regular daily obligations, such as work, their children, their relatives, etc. They may be overwhelmed. They are worrying about which Christmas Mass they will attend in person or virtually.

Still others may be worried about sick loved ones, whether they can travel this year, economic problems, family issues, and missed loved ones, etc. Yes, this is a very hectic time of year for everyone. People have a tendency to be overwhelmed. However, remember not to get too wrapped up in the rat race and commercialism around you. Stop, take a deep breath, and remember what Christmas is all about. It is about hope, peace, joy, and love. It is not about materialism and presents. You need to keep that in mind.

When you are in traffic, rushing around doing errands, finishing up the last details for the season, remember hope, peace, joy, and love. If you remember hope, peace, joy, and love, then no one will steal your Christmas. For you have found the true and real spirit of Christmas. For you have now found the miracle of Christmas.

Merry Christmas! Ann Marie Giordano Gilden, P. A. wishes everyone a truly Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!  Have a very blessed and special day, and focus on the true meaning of Christmas. Please stay safe and healthy, and enjoy this special time of year.
